| Stepping back into the
mists of time, Bonham offers much
from
notorious Gunslinger, John Wesley Hardin,
to Statesman and Speaker of the House, Sam
Rayburn, to Jazz Guitar Great, Charlie Christian.
Bonham has "Two Centuries of Texas Legends."
Discover fossils along the Sulphur River or
up-close at the Fannin County Museum of History,
located at the beautifully restored Texas
and Pacific Depot. View the tribute to the
fighting men of WWII who trained at Jones
Field in Bonham, the centerpiece being a restored
Fairchild airplane.
Experience pioneer living
at Fort Inglish Village where frontier life
of 1830 can be felt in this replica of Bonham's
early Settlement. Next-door is the Sam Rayburn
Library with its marvelous recreation of the
Speaker of the House's Office. On downtown
Hwy 56 the Sam Rayburn House is a moment frozen
in time depicting the simple home life of
the noble "Mr. Sam."
