Carthage is extremely proud of its country music heritage and native sons Jim Reeves and Tex Ritter. The Texas Country Music Hall of Fame and the Tex Ritter Museum, a 13,000 saquare foot state-of-the-art museum opened year-round, honors these and many other Texas-born country music legends. The museum features a larger-than-life bronze statue of Tex Ritter and his horse, White Flash.

A visit to the downtown area will find wonderful an tique and gift and dress shops as well as the refurnished Esquire Theatre where you can find a live country music show every Sunday night featuring local and regional entertainers as well as special guests.

You won't want to miss the Heritage Hall Museum, the Old Jail Museum and the Jim Reeves Monument.
