Mount Pleasant is conveniently situated at the crossroads of I-30 and US 271. Mount Pleasant, named in 1992 and 1995 as one of the 100 Best Small Towns in America and a Texas Main Street City, is less than two hours east of Dallas and less than one hour west of Texarkana.

More than 17,000 acres of fishing, swimming, and lots of fun are available on four lakes within 20 minutes. With its moderate climate, the area offers year-round recreational opportunities. In the spring, wild flowers create a colorful countryside, while the summer offers water recreation and fishing. In the fall, Mother Nature again takes over, providing many hours of pleasure, courtesy of the fall foliage. Winter means hot water bass fishing and Christmas magic. Throughout the year, visitors browse and shop at the antique, crafts, and specialty stores, then enjoy a meal at one of the many dining establishments. The selection available is sure to please the taste buds and delight the pocketbook! Visitors spending the night can select from several nationally known quality motels. One visit and you will know why Mount Pleasant is a place for all seasons for all the right reasons.
