| Discover
Tyler and re-discover how life was meant
to be lived. As East Texas largest city,
Tyler has an air about it that is reminiscent
of days you might have thought were lost
forever. Tyler is a unique blend of the
past and future.
Nestled amid lush pines, glorious azaleas,
fragrant roses and a cluster of 21 prime
sporting lakes, Tyler offers a luxuriant
palette of year-round color and activity.
Springtime attractions include the annual
Azalea Trail, complete with tours of the
unique brick-street Azalea District, quilt
show, tour of homes and more. The Eisenhower
Golf Classic in May is a spring favorite,
and the Texas Rose Festival in October is
a much-anticipated annual event. Dedicated
to this beautiful flower, the Texas Rose
Festival is one of the major tourist attractions
in the state. Events in this floral extravaganza
include Rose Field tours, the rose queens
coronation and Texas Rose Show, rose gardens
and more. In November and December, a Rose
City Christmas features many wonderful events.
Open
year-round are the Tyler Rose Museum, Goodman
Museum, Caldwell Zoo, Brookshires World
of Wildlife, Smith County Historical Society,
Tyler Museum of Art, Discovery Science Place
and more. For more information, contact
the Tyler Convention and Visitors Bureau. |
